The Beginning
I have been making things with my hands for as long as I can remember.
My earliest memory of creating something is receiving a beaded jewellery kit for my birthday as a young child, and spending hours — completely absorbed — making intricate earrings to give to my friends and family.
Through school, the art room was my sanctuary, but when I left school creativity was put on the backburner. Life took over. I tried to find my place in the world, and the making stopped.
Fast forward to 2017. I was at home with three young children, deep in the beautiful chaos of motherhood, and desperately trying to find my identity again. I needed a pair of earrings for an occasion, couldn't find what I wanted, and decided to make my own.
That single moment reignited something I hadn't felt in years...
The Evolution...
What started as polymer clay & resin jewellery at my kitchen table evolved, over time, into something I never expected. I trained as a bench jeweller and metalsmith, learning to work with solid gold, sterling silver, and precious gemstones.
I loved it — but I kept coming back to the same problem. The sky-rocketing price of precious metals meant fine jewellery wasn't accessible to everyone. And the affordable alternatives? They'd look tarnished and ratty within a couple of wears.
I saw a gap. Women deserved jewellery that was genuinely beautiful, genuinely unique, and genuinely made to last — without the fine jewellery price tag. So I translated my fine jewellery designs into tarnish proof surgical steel, and Bexie Accessory Co. was born.
Today...
Every piece I design begins as a vision in my mind. I sketch it out, refine the concept, brief my manufacturing partner, and refine again - often many times over - until the design is perfect.
The day I finally hold the finished piece in my hands for the first time is one of my favourite parts of the process - but nothing compares to the joy of seeing a customer wearing that same piece, loving it, and telling me what it means to them.
Bexie is designed in Australia by a real woman, for real women. It is designed to hold meaning, bring joy, and keep up with your life — every single day.
